3 Lesson 7- Comparing the Old and New Global Center for Christian Development The Old and New Pentecost Old Testament Pentecost New Testament Pentecost Occurred fifty days after Israel left Egypt (Passover was the night before they left.) Occurred fifty days after Christ rose from the dead. Spent forty days with disciples after resurrection and ten days later New Testament Pentecost came. Celebrated the birthday of Israel (Exodus 19:5-6) Celebrated the birthday of the Church (Acts 2:41-47). Witnessed the slaying of 3,000 souls (Exodus 32:28) Witnessed the saving of 3,000 souls (Acts 2:4). Introduced in a mighty way (Exodus 19:16,18). Introduced in a mighty way (Acts 2:2, 3).
