Presentation transcript:

Sea Pollution Pollution is a serious problem to the world and has taken a big chunk of sea animals population, and as touched peoples hearts. It effects humans and animals. Causes of the pollution: sewage; sewage flows through rivers, or drainages directly into the ocean.

Why is it a problem? It is a problem because when we throw away the rubbish, the animals are the ones that suffer. There is an island of rubbish twice the size of texas in the pacific ocean.

Who does it effect? It effects the animals the most because, over one million seabirds are killed by ocean pollution each year. Three hundred thousand dolphins are dieing each year as a result of becoming entangled in discarded fishing nets.

How can we stop it? We can stop it by recycling and encouraging people to recycle. For the rubbish we throw away. Animals are the ones who suffer.

What can we do to make it better? Try to encourage people to do a beach clean. Put a sign up to prevent people littering.

Fun facts! Salty water has the capability to move pollutants from the ocean into coastal freshwater making wells and ground water As 70% of the earth is covered with water. People would think that all of the pollution would get cleaned out.But really, they have not been cleaned away and there effects can easily be seen because they have been added to the food chain.

Fun facts! Until the 1970’s the litter was continuously, dumped into the ocean and became as common practice for disposing everything, assuming that it would get dissolved to safer levels.

Fun facts! Till today, in many parts of the world, sewage water is discharged in the ocean. This can cause serious effect on marine and human life and can also lead to eutrophication.
