Content Abstract –Brief (<500 words), 1 paragraph –summary of the results of your analysis. Introduction –Background (relevant biology of the system) –Significance (why does anyone care?) Objectives –What you set out to do and why –Should be a logical progression from the introduction Model –Structure, equations, graphical/schematic representation of what you are modeling, state variables (defined with units), parameters (any known ranges?, units, etc).

Content Methods –Brief summary of analysis steps (how you found, fixed points, how you conducted simulations etc.), includes brief description of all analytical, graphical, numerical, (including software) Results & Discussion –The specific analysis that you conducted. –Lots of figures! –Interpretation of your data –What is the significance of what you found? Conclusions –Brief (1 paragraph) summary of your most important findings References –Full references for any outside information used Appendix –Attach any long hand completed math –Any software code

formatting All but appendix needs to be typed Use math type or other math editor Can cut and paste from mathematica etc. Length (complete but succinct); not wordy Page numers 1 inch margins 11 or 12 font for main text. No smaller than 10 font for figure legends Figure titles go below figures Table titles go above tables Figures and tables should be integrated into the text (not all at end for example) Use headers for each section
