Members continued…  Address the Inactive-Delinquent  Accurate Attendance records kept- watch for absence patterns more than two in a row (that are unexplained) contact them after 3 in a row and definitely before 6 in a row.  Changing Stewardship and Involvement patterns – “Danger Will Robinson.”

Delinquent  Follow Up – PRAY then CONNECT  Phone to set up a visit and prepare for follow up visit(s)…  The Caring Elder book has a list of several topical bible passages -  Study Bibles and Catechism are other resources  BE INTENTIONAL … GO!

Delinquent continued… Home Visits or offsite meal - “I’ve missed seeing you at church…is everything ok? Or “what’s going on?”  LISTEN, receive what they are saying non- judgmentally.  Encourage them to return/ you keep in touch.  Attending elsewhere – need to transfer or be released from membership. Know what your process is.  Exit Interviews – not done by the pastor.

Not Yets  Who is in your world of relationships? Make a list.  Neighbors  Socially – Gym, Recreational, Clubs, Organizations  Work  School  Family / Extended Family  Acquaintances What is going on in THEIR WORLD and LIFE…daily life offers connecting points!

Not Yets  Relationship List –  Are they believers?  What do they need you to pray about?  How are you nurturing this/these relationships?  What is God doing in their life now? How could you join Him in His work?  How can you help connect them to Jesus and His Church?  What does your church offer that would be beneficial to them, their family and faith?

Not Yets – What can I do?  “Walk wide through life with arms outstretched to touch as many lives as you can in the Name of Jesus, TODAY!”  Pray as you go on your daily journeys…ask God for opportunities to connect people to Him!

B.L.E.S.S. “Love God and Love Your Neighbor”

Not Yets…how can the church create a guest friendly culture?  Five Senses -ask what it is that your first time guests …  SEE when they drive up or sit in your sanctuary (take a tour of the entire property)?  SMELL when they enter the front door?  TASTE when they get a taste of your ministry?  TOUCH or come in touch with prior to becoming members?  HEAR about you in the community, in worship, in print or media, from other members?
