Moon The Moon is the Earth’s only natural satellite and was formed 4.6 billion years ago around some million years after the formation of the solar system. Distance from sun: on average, is about 150 million km. Distance from earth: 384,400 km Diameter of the moon:3,475 km Mass of the moon: 73,476,730,924,573,500 million kg.( x Earth) Temperature: -233 to 123 degrees C. Weather: very hot in the daytime. At night, the lunar surface gets really cold. Gravity: g History of human scientific explorations: Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the Moon.

Facts about the Moon -The same side of the Moon is always facing the Earth. -The Moon is drifting away from the Earth. It is moving approximately 3.8 cm away from our planet every year. -A person would weigh much less on the Moon. -The Moon has only been walked by 12 people.
