Speed and Acceration

distance Total distance an object travels from a starting point to ending point

speed How fast or slow an object moves – it is scalar s = d/t Speed does not have direction so it is not a vector

displacement how far away an object is from its starting point.

slope A way to figure out acceleration from a velocity vs time graph Y 2 – y 1 / x 2 – x 1

Acceleration The change of velocity divided by the change in time It is a vector A = V f – v i / t a = v 2 –v 1

vectors Has magnitude and direction Magnitude is the amount Direction could be up or down, east, west, north or south, negative or positive

Velocity How fast or slow an object moves in a certain direction it’s a vector
