EGGLESTON EMERGENCY PROCEDURES/PLANS Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness Plan In an effort to guide all employees to practice safe habits at Eggleston and receive ongoing incident specific training, the organization has developed The Emergency Preparedness Plan.  Establishes incident specific action steps  Sites include response plans unique to their location  Reviewed with new hires at site orientation  Located in the Safety/Risk Management Manual

Site Safety Orientation The first day at their new site, each new employee is to receive a site orientation that must include the following safety elements:  Physical Tour of Building  Review of building evacuation routes and exits  Location of Fire Suppression equipment  Location of alarm activation stations.  Location of First Aid Stations and Supplies.  Location of AED’s (Heart Defibrillators).  Location of Safe Shelter Rooms in building.  Location of Emergency Alert Radios  Location of site Safety manuals.

Each new employee will be given time to review the site safety book and ask questions to clarify their understanding of procedures. Supervisors will review each employees role during emergency events and evacuation drills. Each employee should receive a building diagram that clearly shows the following:  Location of Fire exits, rally points and inside safe zones.  Location of fire extinguishers, alarm pull stations, AED’s and first aid stations. Site Safety Orientation (Evacuation)

Practice to be Prepared All Eggleston operations provide procedural reviews or perform live drills as follows:  July and August - Building/program power failure  September and October - Medical Emergency  November and December - Fire  January and February - Bomb Threat  March and April – Inclement Weather (Tornado, Hurricane, Flood)  May and June – Protection during violent/threatening situation Sites may also run specific drills more frequently based on regulatory requirements and/or run drills unique to their operations.

Document and Improve All drills and actual event responses are recorded both electronically and in paper form. Event and drill documentation is reviewed by management regularly in an effort to recognize best practices and address/improve deficiencies. Paper copies of drills and after action reviews are stored on EggNet and inside each site’s safety manual.
