F UTURE VISION FOR HEALTH INFORMATICS APPLICATIONS.

patient records in the burn unit of Ras Elteen hospital depends on paper based filing system.

Treatment of burn needs long time, some patients stay for up to 2- 3 months, which means that the files are full of papers that can be damaged, lost, or mixed up chronologically.

On the long run, each patient consume many drugs and other varying medical supplies. Although most of these are available, others which are very important either for treatment or surgical procedures are deficient due to lack of budget optimization.

My future vision depends on two main axes.

All patient files should be computer based.

The entire hospital system should be ideally also full computerized to facilitate various aspects of patient management regarding lab investigations, blood bank, pharmacy, radiology, etc…

Based on using H.I. to optimize budget expenditure by utilizing data about every drug and medical supply consumption in the unit to better direct the assigned budget towards providing all the unit requirements.

Thank you.
