Conditions on the Iditarod On the Iditarod, there will be dangerous conditions on the Iditarod trail, like temperatures below zero, high winds that can lose your visibility, and icy lakes.

Equipment on the Iditarod The equipment you will need on the Iditarod are An ax Dog food A sleeping bag Snowshoes Artic parka

Caring for your dogs To care for your dogs, you will need to prepare them some food, like dog biscuit and steak to heat up. If any of their feet were cut or hurt, you will need to put on little boots on their feet to protect them. When the temperature gets to cold, mushers put on coats and blankets to protect them.

Dangers on the Iditarod There are many dangers on the Iditarod trail such as frozen rivers, huge forests, snowmobiles, moose, tangles on a dogs harness, huge mountain ranges, and dangers of overflow.

A day in a musher’s life A day in a musher’s life first begins with breakfast. After breakfast, a musher then feeds his dogs. Then, a musher will train his dogs until noon, which then he will rest for a while. A musher then has lunch, which is mostly frozen. A musher goes back to training his dogs, then feeds the dogs dinner. The musher then feeds himself dinner, and around 8:00 P.M., the musher goes to bed.
