Terms & People  Identify the following: Straight, totem poles, potlatches, Hohokam, tepees, Olmec, Maya, Chinampas, Quechua, Quipu

Questions  Identify the major mountains in North and South America.  What is a narrow strip of water?  Why migrate to North America?  What conditions made it possible for people to cross to America?

More Questions  What was missing for the natives to development agriculture?  What is the purpose of a totem pole?  How did Southwestern people survive?  How was buffalo hunted?

More Questions  What did Mississippian cultures center around?  Who made up the Olmec society?  How did the Mayas use astronomy?  Who was the chief god for the Toltec's?

Still More Questions…  How did the Aztecs increase food supply?  What did the Aztecs use for sacrifices?  How did the Incas unify their empire?  Pueblo’s built houses out of what?  Inca emperor held what power?

Stuff to know  The Olmec elite held military, government, and religious power  The Toltec and Aztec both worshipped Quezalcoatl.  Test is MONDAY
