Kindergarten teachers teach children the basic subjects, but also are responsible for teaching the kids social skills.

SOCIAL DUTIES A kindergarten teacher must serve as educator, surrogate parents and psychologist in order to mold students who are well-adjusted and eager to learn. ACADEMIC DUTIES Kindergarten teachers teach their students basic academic skills such as letter recognition, phonics and phonemic awareness and they also teach them how to read and write.

Teachers are often isolated from their colleagues because they are in their own classroom teaching their own students. Some schools allow the teachers to work together to enhance their professional development. Most teachers work more than 40 hours per week but part-time schedules are common among kindergarten teachers.

In every state, public school teachers are required to have licenses through their state boards of education. Private schools, though, usually don’t require licensing. Teachers will often have on-the-job training also.

Typically, kindergarten teachers earn from around $48,800 to $51,660 per year.

My perfect choice school would be SVSU with Elementary Education being my major. It is a Bachelor’s degree and costs around $12,546.

Registered nurses promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illnesses. They educate the patients, families, and community about their health.

The duties of R.N.’s are: Record patients' medical histories and symptoms Record patients' medical histories and symptoms Give patients medicines and treatments Give patients medicines and treatments Set up plans for patients’ care or contribute to existing plans Set up plans for patients’ care or contribute to existing plans Observe patients and record the observations Observe patients and record the observations Consult with doctors and other healthcare professionals Consult with doctors and other healthcare professionals Operate and monitor medical equipment Operate and monitor medical equipment Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results Teach patients and their families how to manage their illnesses or injuries Teach patients and their families how to manage their illnesses or injuries Explain what to do at home after treatment Explain what to do at home after treatment

Registered nurses spend a lot of time walking, bending, stretching, and standing. Nurses usually work in rotating shifts, covering all 24 hours. They may work nights, weekends, and holidays and may also be on call.

Nurses must obtain a nursing license. There are also three educational paths to nursing: Associate degree in nursing (A.D.N.), bachelor of science degree in nursing (B.S.N.), and diploma.

Registered nurses earn from about $44,190 -$95,130 annually.

My perfect choice school for nursing would be the University of Michigan. You need a minimum of 128 credit hours to graduate in the Traditional BSN Program, costing about $84,608.

The similarities between a kindergarten teacher and a nurse is that they both get to help people and depending on if the nurse works with pediatric patients, they may both work with kids.

The differences between the two career choices I chose are that a nurse helps with the physical health of the body while a teacher helps mentally.

The career that I prefer is teaching. I feel like I would be better at teaching kids and working with them on learning things rather than taking care of someone’s health.
