What makes a high quality LOtC experience? Where can I find information on LOtC? What is the LOtC Quality Badge? New RE trails website: information and help wanted Creating a high quality LOTC experience or RE trail in your area

The most memorable LOtC experience I remember from school The most memorable LOtC experience I have had with students

Pupil comments following visits to sacred spaces: “The stories from the war made me think about what it must be like to live in terror and fear.” Year 8 engaged in a Memories project involving older members of the community “The trip helped me decide that I definitely want to come back in my gap year and learn more.” A Level student describing the impact of a week long visit to eastern Europe to study the Holocaust “Mammy, this is my church, it’s very quiet, I can come here to think.” Foundation Stage pupil “I like the one with Rama, Sita and Lakshman because it shows that people are one big community.” Primary pupil following a visit to a mandir

Teacher/Interfaith Guide comments following visits to sacred spaces: “You can get so much more from a place that is live and running than you can in a classroom. The impact on the children today will be fresh for ever, I hope!” Interfaith guide “Many children have not been in such places of worship and it broadens their perspective of that faith and the believers.” Head of RE “I believe that the opportunity for our GCSE students to visit the mosque and the church was a major contributory factor to the results they achieved - 72% A*-C as compared with an average of 42% in the rest of the Academy” Head of RE “The project has fostered our bonds as a community, giving children and adults greater knowledge of how they learn best and enabled our children to develop as learners and reflective spiritual human beings”. Head working with the local community to develop a spiritual project in the school grounds
