PISTOIA’S NURSERY PARK Pistoia is known for its market gardens in Italy and abroad. Recently in Pistoia has been opened a nursery park,the first in Europe where there are a lot of particoulary and rare plants.

P ISTOIA ’ S CATHEDRAL The cathedral is the main religious building in Pistoia, located in Cathedral’s square in the center of the city. It’s the seat of the Bishop of Pistoia and is dedicated to Saint Zeno of Verona. Altar of St. James Crucifix Chapel contains the altar, in embossed silver sheet; there are three representations: Stories of the New Testament, Christ in Majesty between Mary and St. James and three stories of St. James.

CEPPO’S HOSPITAL. The Ceppo is a medieval ancient hospital in Pistoia, founded in XIII century. The Loggia is decorated by a ceramic glaze, the frieze was executed from The tondoes (The annunciation and the Glory of the Virgin) were executed by Giovanni Della Robbia.

PISTOIA’S BAPTISTRY Pistoia’s Baptistry is located in the Cathedral’s square. It’s considerated one of the most important expressions of the tuscanic gothic. In the past it was used to baptize people.

V ILLA “ LA MAGIA ” Villa “ La Magia” is located in the center of Quarrata, near Pistoia, and it’s an important “medicea” villa, which belonged to an important family of Florence in It’s recognised as UNESCO’s patrimony since 2013.

S AINT ’ ANDREA ’ S PULPIT The pulpit in the Church of Saint’ Andrea is a masterpiece of 1301 by the Italian sculptor Giovanni Pisano. It’s a hexagonal plan with seven columns. Most notable is the scene of the “Massacre of the Innocents”.

MAZZINI’S SQUARE Mazzini’s square or St. Francisco’s square is located in the centre of Pistoia. In front of this square there’s St. Francisco’ s church. It is the place where young people meet together at night.

S ALA ’ S SQUARE. Sala’s square is located in the historic centre of Pistoia. Since many years there’s a daily foods market. In this square there are a lots of restaurants, and it’s a meet point for young people and not only at night.

THE ORGAN OF THE SAINT SPIRIT ’ S CHURCH This organ was built in 1674 by Willem Hermans. It’s part of the important Academy of the Organ in Pistoia
