Phlebotomy Technician Medical Lab Assistant Medical Lab Technician Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

High-school diploma/on-the-job training Various routes of certification, including clinical practice. Collects blood sample from the patient.

2 –year degree or certificate from college or Armed Forces school. Must pass a national examination. Performs clinical lab tests on blood, tissue, cells and other body fluids to help in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

QA Manual to include: Description of building storage and security Lab sample storage and handling procedures Maximum holding times and preparations for samples Sample preparation Complete itemization of lab equipment Quality Control Reporting Requirements (date of analysis and assessment of data) Client complaints/corrective action Primary contact information of lab personnel
