Budget Development Early to Mid-November - Teachers discuss needs with building principal and superintendent. December-January - Teachers and support personnel submit requests for funds and programs to the principal/Superintendent. Budgets are reviewed by the Superintendent
Budget Development January/February – Superintendent and Business Administrator review district needs and budget priorities February 21, 2012 Governor’s budget address on state of the state February 23, 2012 State Aid figures were released February 29, Board of Education approves the preliminary budget for submission to the County Office of Education March 5, Deadline to submit the budget to the Cumberland County Office of Education for review March 28, Public Hearing. The Budget is finalized. No public vote on the budget. Tax Levy increase is 2% or less.
Budget Specifics – Some co-curricular (afterschool) sports and activities – Field trips for each grade level – Technology upgrades and equipment – Shared curriculum coordinator – Math textbooks at select grades – Increased literacy resources -- Pre School Program (2 --1/2 day sessions) -- 2 homeroom sections at each grade level (K-8) – Class size remains between Special Subjects (art, music, phys. ed., library, technology, and spanish) -- Professional development --Increased CST time in district
