The Piedmont Region in Central Georgia By Kieran Villalobos

Do you know where Georgia is?

Georgia is in the Southeastern part of the US, on the continent of North America.

The central part of Georgia is called the Piedmont Region.

The Piedmont Region is home to many people than any other part of the state.

The average temperature in the Piedmont region is 60 degrees.

The average rainfall in the Piedmont Region varies from 45 inches to 75 inches.

Red clay soil covers most of the Piedmont Region.

The Green Tree Frog sometimes lives in the Hickory tree. The Honey Bee likes to make their homes in trees.

The Fence lizard likes to blend in with the environment. That is called camouflage. The Indigo Snake can be found in your own backyard.

The Salamander likes to live near water, but also on the grass. Coyotes were once even found in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Here are some types of trees you can find in the Piedmont Region. This one is a Hickory tree.

This is an Elm tree.

This is a Loblolly tree.

This is a Pine Tree.

These are Poplar trees.
