2 Lesson 1—Create a New Document and Import Files n Fireworks files are called __________ and are created in the _____ format. n To create a new document: –Run Fireworks –Select File > New, enter parameters. –Select File > Save As, enter name & location. n To import a file into the document: –Select File > Import, locate file, double-click it. –Drag the pointer over the document window where you want the image to appear. –Select File > Close > Yes to save.

6 Lesson 3c—Adding Layers, Creating & Editing Vector Objects n To create a layer and display rulers –select an existing layer, click New/Duplicate Layer button (lower right corner of Layers panel) –double-click a new layer to change its name –in the menu, select View > Rulers n To create a vector object –click a tool (such as Rectangle) in the Tools panel –select various properties in the Property inspector (Fill, Fill Color, Texture, etc.) –click and drag to create the object in the image n To apply a stroke to an object –select various stroke properties (category, tip, etc.)

7 Lesson 4a—Create Text n Text terms: –kerning: space between adjacent letters –leading: space between lines of text –anti-aliasing: blending edges of type with background color n To create text –select a layer to work in, click the Text tool –make desired selections in the Property inspector –click in the document and enter text –click the Pointer tool in the Select toolbox, click and drag the text object to locate as desired
