Defenders of Wildlife Species we are helping to protect

Defenders of Wildlife Wind Energy Permitting For More Information:  Improve understanding of Golden Eagle population and wind turbine impacts.  Improve adaptability and flexibility of wind facilities in responding to operational impacts to bird and bat species.

Defenders of Wildlife Direct development to those places that will avoid and/or minimize conflicts with biological resources. Establish a process to facilitate early and ongoing input and coordination with stakeholders and companies. Improve our understanding of biological impacts early enough in the process to allow for actions to be taken to avoid conflicts. Improve the quality and consistency of environmental reviews. Ensure that mitigation is more coordinated, consistent, strategic and effective. Improving permitting of renewable energy projects
