New Parliament, Commission and Treaty of Lisbon The Treaty of Lisbon will make the EU both more efficient and more democratic. The Presidency intends to act so that the Treaty is launched in a positive spirit. The Presidency will make itself readily available to the European Parliament for dialogue and discussion on the Council’s work.
