ASPIRE PUBLIC SCHOOLS Annual Update to the LUSD Board of Education January 15, 2014 Submitted by Mary Welch, Area Superintendent

 Aspire celebrates its 15 th anniversary in 2014! We are proud to have had our very first school in Lodi in 1999!  We welcome two new principals this year – Kris Jamison at ROCS and Jeff Palmquist at Ben Holt.  Last year we implemented our new teacher effectiveness system of supports and evaluation. The first stipends based on performance were distributed in November.  Our Lodi Schools continue to be a great training ground for our nationally recognized Teacher Residency program. Teachers work alongside a mentor teacher for one year. They earn their Master’s degree and credential through a partnership with Aspire and UOP.  Student achievement remains very high! ROCS increased its API to 899, Holt went up to 892, and Shalvey remained in the 900’s at 917.  Ben Holt graduated for the fifth consecutive year 100% of its seniors with acceptances to a four-year college!
