Guinea Pig By: Alaina

Habitat Wild guinea pigs live in small groups. Wild guinea pigs shelter in the burrows that they dig. Wild guinea pigs usually come out at night to eat plants and stay in their burrows in the daytime.

Physical Description Guinea pigs grow up to 14 inches (36 centimeters) long. A guinea pig has a large head, small ears, and short legs. Wild guinea pigs are gray or brown. Guinea pigs kept as pets can be white, black, brown, red, or a mixture of colors.

Diet Guinea pigs are easy to keep as pets. They need cages with plenty of fresh air and water. Guinea pigs usually eat dry grains, greens, and hay.

Behavior Guinea pigs like to be with other people and other guinea pigs. You should get one.

Interesting Facts Guinea pigs will go to the bathroom and they will drag their bodies so that they can mark their territory. Guinea pigs will act weird when their cage is cleaned.

Summary I chose to do a guinea pig because there is a lot to learn about from them.
