Basic SELECT Statement ◦ SELECT identifies the columns to be displayed ◦ FROM identifies the table containing those columns SELECT *|{[DISTINCT] column|expression [alias],...} FROM table;

Writing SQL Statements ◦ SQL statements are not case-sensitive. ◦ SQL statements can be on one or more lines. ◦ Keywords cannot be abbreviated or split across lines. ◦ Clauses are usually placed on separate lines. ◦ Indents are used to enhance readability. ◦ In SQL*plus, you are required to end each SQL statement with a semicolon (;).

Sort data in descending order of salary and commissions. 3- Display the last name of all employees who have both an a and an e in their last name. 4- Display the last name, job, and salary for all employees whose job is SA_REP or ST_CLERK and whose salary is not equal to $2,500, $3,500, or $7,000.
