Stem Cell Brainstorm

Thesis Since its discovery, scientists and doctors have found cures for diseases of all sorts. The use of stem cells gives hope to unsolved illnesses..

Claims A lizard who has detached its body from its tail has the power to grow it back just as a human paralyzed due to damage of the spine has the power to walk again after having treatments of stem cell injections. The fairly new technology works in various ways and comes in a range of forms.

Counter Arguments Although the stem cell study is positive in what progress it has been making in the medical world, it is still being viewed as a very controversial subject.. People often argue that extracting embryonic stem cells from fertile reproductive eggs contributes to abortion.

Rebuttal Some states have provided funding aids to the further advanced research of these amazing cells and some states oppose this type of support. On March 9, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 1305, entitled “Removing Barriers to Responsible Research Involving Human Stem Cells”.

Conclusion Stem Cell Research is beneficial to the improvement of the health sciences although it is debated to be morally insufficient. Scientists are attempting to further research in the aspect that they are pro- life and also pro-future, for they desire to better human life for others.
