Reflection Evaluate how you currently spend your time Use an activity log for one week Rate your energy level throughout the day. How many hours do you spend studying? Determine when you have free time How long can you focus at a time? Evaluate your eating patterns throughout the day Do you eat 3 meals a day, 6 meals a day? Do you eat healthy foods or foods high in calories and fat?

Goals Set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals! Examples: Study 10 hours each week Work out 2 days each week Work 50 hours in a month Save $2,000 during the year for college Eat meals and snacks every 2-3 hours to maintain energy

Plan to use an Agenda! Types of Agendas: cell phone, outlook, and hardcopy Use Automatic Reminders! Schedule challenging tasks during peak energy Plan meals regularly to maintain energy Include Breaks and exercises Set early deadlines Include hard deadlines such as: Tests Athletic Events

To Do List Write all tasks in order of importance Feel good as you accomplish tasks and mark them off Create daily “to do list” that help you reach micro goals Say “no” to extra activities that do not help you reach goals and that take time and add to stress

Set yourself up for success! Studying-learn what works for you! Learn the length of your attention span Create blocks of study time Create a learning environment Determine when you are most alert Be realistic- plan for interruptions

Rewards Goals achieved Better grades, higher quality work, better sports performance, etc. More time for things you prefer Hanging out with friends Shopping Playing video games Less guilt! More success! More happiness! Thank you for listening to my presentation!
