Welcome to our weavings, Carvings and Maori jewellery!!!!!!

Weavings Flax is used for weaving things like a kete, flowers and putae. You can also use it to make a whistle and a piupiu. You can also make little bags to put things in like necklaces and some greenstone. Weaving is easy if you know how to plait and there are some other ways to weave but we don’t now how. Weavings are used for many things.

Carvings!!!!! Carvings are used for putting on Maraes, waka and taiaha that boys use in the haka. They put them in the Maori section in museums.

Maori Jewellery!!! Maori jewellery is made in many different shapes and sizes!!!!!! They can be bone or greenstone and also wood!!!!!! Most toanga is made for performances!!!!! Toanga is used for wearing!!!!!!
