A DIESEL TRAIN WILL USE GAS AS A GENERATOR. THE MOTOR IN A DIESEL TRAIN IS PLACED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TRAIN AND RECEIVES ELECTRICITY FROM THE GENERATOR THAT HAS ITS OWN LARGE ROOM IN THE TRAIN. DIESEL TRAINS HAVE A DIESEL ENGINE INSIDE OF THEM.

Large diesel trains need a great amount of power in order to get going. Diesel trains are basically two huge power generators much like the ones we use to power things in remote areas that don’t have power. The two huge generators run on diesel and are located in the front of the train and the rear end of the train. They power the two huge electric motors that turn the wheels.

FACTS ABOUT DIESEL ENGINES The diesel engine was invented by Rudolph Diesel. The diesel engine was the first engine that Rudolph Diesel invented. The diesel engine was first used on German trains as early as During the 1950s diesel engines became common and the ages of steam trains was over.

Diesel engines burn fuel, which requires less refining and are cheaper than higher-grade fuel such as petrol. During the process, the stored energy in the fuel is converted to thermal. The temperature in each cylinder rises as high as 2,480 degreesC and creates pressure of about 100kms per square centimetre.
