Espresso (strong black coffee made by forcing steam through ground coffee beans.)  from Italian caffè espresso = “pressed out coffee.” Latte (a drink of frothy steamed milk to which a shot of espresso coffee is added.)  from Italian, short for caffè latte = milk coffee.
