THE COMPLICATION OF SAME SEX MARRIAGE IN NC BY: DALTON, VICTOR, AND CHRISTIAN

MAGISTRATES As of October 10. at least 6 magistrates have resigned. “Our magistrates swear that they will ‘support the Constitution of the United States’ before they are allowed to take their office,” Smith said in his letter to Berger. “Whether we agree or disagree with the holdings, the courts have defined the scope of due process and equal protection under the Constitution of the United States on this issue. Unless and until these holdings are stayed, modified, or reversed, our magistrates are affirmatively bound by those rulings in exercising their official powers.”

ARGUABLE POINTS Are they actually going to be together a life time? “Till death do them part” They have to be divorced where they got married? They aren’t recognized in the states that don’t allow same sex marriage.
