The aim of this session is to provide you with:- An understanding of the Personal Protective Equipment available in the premises How, when and why Personal Protective Equipment should be worn

INTRODUCTION What Personal Protective Equipment is available to wear? Why do we need personal protective equipment?

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT - DEFINITION Personal Protective Equipment All equipment designed to be worn or held by a person at work to protect against one or more risks, and any addition or accessory designed to meet this objective

PPE WITHIN THE PREMISES Kitchen Cellar

PPE – EMPLOYEE’S DUTIES Must wear it if provided Must report loss or damage Must maintain it – clean, useable Store it safely

PPE – COMMON CONCERNS Goggles which cannot be worn due to elastic being stretched Goggles so dirty etc cannot/won’t be worn Goggles being stored on chemical container so likely to be contaminated No PPE or incorrect PPE for task

If it says wear it, then WEAR IT!!
