What is BB ALERT TM ? BB ALERT TM is an eco-friendly, cost effective, discreet and easy-to-use bed bug monitoring device that effectively checks for signs of bed bug infestation. Pesticide free and environmentally safe and it can be used anywhere as part of an: ongoing monitoring programme; when a problem has been identified and it can be used to verify the effectiveness treatment; as an effective treatment method. BBALERT TM can be used without closing rooms or impacting on the ambience and quality of the indoor environment. The product doesn’t require registration in most countries.

How to use and Activate BB ALERT TM ACTIVATOR Take a BB ALERT TM Unit and lift off lid. (Fig.1) Carefully open ONE SIDE of the BB ALERT TM ACTIVATOR. ( Twin-Pack Fig.2) Remove ONE red BB ALERT TM ACTIVATOR Sachet. DO NOT OPEN THIS SACHET. Gently shake the red BB ALERT TM ACTIVATOR Sachet. (Fig.3) Place the sachet in centre area of BB ALERT TM base and replace lid. (FLY in Fig.4) The sachet needs to replaced every 24 hours. The monitor can be used for maximum 3 times if evidence of activity has not been found.

The science behind BBALERT TM Every element of the device has been designed following extensive entomological and field studies by some of the worlds leading pest control researchers. A purposely developed ` ACTIVATOR ’ is placed in the centre of the device, which when activated by exposing it to the air, generates 37 0 C, the same as the body temperature of most mammals. It has also been specifically designed to simulate respiration. Following lengthy, extensive laboratory trials, these compounds have been found to be the two important `triggers’ for bed bug entrapment. Having established this following many trails, that this combination of heat and respiration to be highly appealing to bed bugs, the knowledge was used to design BBALERT TM ACTIVATOR and the trap. BBALERT TM has a specially designed top cover made from an insulated foam, which fits precisely onto four posts and the gap between the lid and base precisely controls the amount of heat and respiration released from the device. The plastic spines on the base simulates mammal hairs and was found to increase trap catch significantly Vs without it and prevents as yet un –trapped bed bugs from seeing trapped insects, and possibly playing a role in disrupting alarm pheromones.
