Presentation transcript:

1. Name Your Utopian Society Choose a creative and appropriate name to represent your new society. During your presentation, you will need to clearly explain the significance of the name you have chosen.

Declaration of Independence Write a brief statement describing the reasons for your formation of a utopian society. In other words, what specifically don't you like about current society? How has the current society broken trust with you? Why do you feel the need to form a "more perfect" society? You might want to think about the U.S. Declaration of Independence for ideas.

3. Governing Body How will the government of this utopia be structured? Will it be democratic, socialistic, or a form of totalitarianism? How will your utopia make decisions?

4. National Anthem Select a song whose lyrics and theme represents the ideals of your utopian society Include the song’s name, lyrics, and artist.

5. Utopian Motto and Flag Create a slogan or motto that inhabitants of your utopia will follow. Design a flag that represents the values of your utopia. During the presentation, explain the meaning and significance of the motto and flag that is chosen.

6. Utopian Animal / Mascot / Symbol What animal would symbolize your utopia? Include a picture. Again, you will need to explain your reasons behind choosing this animal in your presentation.

7. Bill of Rights / Commandments Develop a list of at least ten ‘rights’ or commandments that will be available to or enforced by all community members. Provide a reason for each during your presentation.

8. Economy / Industry / Products Describe the basic type of economy that would be necessary to operate your utopia. How would they earn an income? What types of jobs would be available? Provide a reason for each during your presentation.

9. Education / Job Training What type of education and or job training would be needed to operate your utopia? Would there be mandated public education? If so, in what manner? Provide a reason for each during your presentation.

10. Daily Itinerary How will utopia inhabitants spend their time during the week? Develop a hypothetical schedule that community members might follow during a typical day. Include Professional, Personal, and Recreational activities. Your itinerary can be a listing of times and activities, but it should be broken down by the hour (or a similar time period that is appropriate for your utopia).

11. National Pastime Describe a recreational activity or passion that will become a tradition for members of your utopia. Be descriptive and include graphics of the activity.

12. Advertisement / Commercial Develop a written advertisement or commercial that promotes positive aspects of your utopia. This ad should be complete with pictures that are representative of life in your utopia.
