Who are Skillnets? Currently mandated by Dept. Of Education & Skills 56 Enterprise-led learning Networks in operation in 2012 Networks are regional and sectoral Training is designed and demanded by enterprise Joint investment between State and enterprise Aim to increase participation in training to improve competitiveness & improve workers’ access to skills Aim to upskill those in the workforce made redundant or part-employed 300,000+ people trained since Job-seekers supported in 2011 Free training for Job-seekers

2011 Annual Report

Skillnets Annual Report 2011 €22.6 million was invested in developing the skills of over 42,113 people in Ireland. €12.1 million was invested from the National Training Fund (NTF) and €10.5 million from companies. Trainees benefitted from over 221,682 training days, delivered by 72 Skillnet networks across the country. Over 41,000 of those training days were delivered to job- seekers. 61% of training days were certified (55% NFQ & 6% industry certified)

Feedback from member companies: 97% of member companies agreed that the training has helped them to fill skill gaps 87% agreed that it has contributed to improved productivity 83% also reported that Skillnets training has contributed to market developments such as enhancements to products and services 55% noted it aided expansion in existing markets or entry into new markets (49%)
