FIREWORKS graphics software Intro to Basic Shapes

Canvas Settings

Christmas Tree … body Locate the Vector objects (left side, tools panel). Click & hold the drop-down arrow from the shapes panel. Choose a rectangle. Draw it out onto the canvass.

Properties Bar The Properties Bar is located below the canvass. Select your object. Click the drop-down arrow to choose from the colors panel.

Skew Tool … alters the shape After choosing the Skew tool (left side, panel tool), Click on the top left corner of your rectangle and drag the black square toward the center of your shape to make a triangle.

Adding trunk, skirt Choose the rectangle shape to draw out the tree trunk. Change the color. Next, draw out an oval shape beneath the trunk. Make color & texture changes from the Properties bar. Right click the oval, choose Arrange, Send to Back.

Star … using Filters Choose the Shapes tool to add a star at the top. Click the yellow squares and drag inward/outward to shape the star. From the Properties Bar, choose to add a Filter (shadow/glow)

Decorate the Tree Experiment with other features to decorate your tree as you desire.
