 A computer program that searches documents, especially on the World Wide Web, for a specified word or words and provides a list of documents in which they are found.  Today there are over 1,000 different search engines.  Do we cite search engines?

1. Google- 60% 2. Yahoo- 14% 3. MSM Live- 4% Search Engines #2 when it comes to use of the internet, #1.

 Search- want to know a specific answer  Discovery- Browsing to learn more about a topic.

1. One search engine does not do it all. 2. There is an invisible Web that search engines cannot get through. 3. Search engines can not read your mind. 4. Search engines do not evaluate the content on a web site. You will have to assess. 5. Use more than one search engine for your search.
