Evangelism Requires Motivation Love of God – Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God – Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord – John 3:16 – For God so loved Have we experienced "the love of the Father" in our lives? – If so, how can we not be moved (motivated) to want to share it with others? Am I Ashamed? (Hide it under a bushel – NO!) – I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ … (Romans 1:16) – We can’t be a secret disciple like Joseph of Arimathea (John 19:38) – We must “confess” -- Romans 10:9 (salvation), Luke 12:8 (before men)
Compassion for lost souls (Mt 9:35-36)Mt 9:35-36 – Think of what the Apostles (and others) gave up Travel Prison Ship wreck Etc… Do I care? – We have the “Good News” (cure for a terminal condition) I Can’t Show Partiality – James 2, Luke 8:5-ff Evangelism Requires Motivation
Does it burn within me – Jer. 20:9 – Ps. 39:1-3 – Acts 17:16 – Acts 18:5 – 1 Co. 9:14-17 Reminder as to what we should preach Ro 1:16 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
