Classical Civilizations From Approx. 600 B.C.E. to 500 A.D.

Ancient Persia B.C.E.  Persia – homeland is in modern day Iran.  550 B.C.E. - Persians started to conquer surrounding territories.  500 B.C.E. - the Persians had conquered from the Indus Valley all the way to Greece and Egypt.

Ancient Persia B.C.E.  Emperor Darius – ruled the Empire  Built the Royal Road and others to connect the empire  Allowed the movement of information and soldiers  Allowed trade to flourish  First Empire to widely use standard weight coins  Helped unite the Empire.

Ancient Persia B.C.E.  Religion – Zoroastrianism  Zoroaster – Prophet  Taught about a great battle on Earth between Good and Bad  Single good God battled against the single bad force.
