The 18 LIFESKILLS are the day-to-day definition of the Lifelong Guideline of “Personal Best.” The LIFESKILLS are the personal/ social parameters for everyone – students and adults. You may want to add text to the following slides to elaborate on the skill. “An invaluable tool for teaching the Lifelong Guidelines and LIFESKILLS is Tools for Citizenship and Life: Using the ITI Lifelong Guidelines and LIFESKILLS in Your Classroom by Sue Peterson. Can be ordered at The book has a separate chapter for each of the Guidelines and LIFESKILLS and describes why and how to practice the guideline/skill and what it looks like in the real world and school.
