 A document which defines the organizational goals  An outline of the steps needed to meet these goals  A written guide that allows members, administrators, alumni, advisory committee members and others to know and understand the activities of the organization **MARKET YOUR PROGRAM!! Specific (6 “w’s”) *Who: Who is involved? *What: What do I want to accomplish? *Where: Identify a location. *When: Establish a time frame. *Which: Identify requirements and constraints. *Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal. Write SMART Goals

Measurable Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress Stay on track, reach your target dates To determine if your goal is measurable, ask questions such as......How much? How many? How will I know when it is accomplished?

Attainable Figure out ways you can make it happen. Develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach goals

Realistic A goal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. Be sure that every goal represents substantial progress. You truly believe that it can be accomplished Ask yourself what conditions would have to exist to accomplish this goal.

Track able Timely - Within a time frame. Tangible – You can experience it with one of the senses, that is, taste, touch, smell, sight or hearing.

Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Trackable/ Timely

 Step by step processes  listed in order  clear and detailed  who, what, why, where, when, how, how much Program of Work Action Plan in Summary

 Did the organization meet all of the goals for the activity?  Why or why not  Did the activity stay within budget?  Recommendations for future activities Final Report

 Should be provided to all members.  Should be approved by all members.  Can be used as an informational tool to parents, administration, school board, advisory committee and others. Completed POW
