Collaboration o Respect each other’s office and responsibilities o Separation of duties o Focusing on our individual duties to better serve students

Communicate, Communicate, Communicate!!! Communication Monthly Meetings Volunteer to meet with staff on different topics Half-day Trainings Access to Both Office Screens Get to know employees by first name and their job duties Resolve Problems Immediately

o How can the two offices serve students more effectively and efficiently? o The offices share the same goals for retention. o Respect and understand each office’s expectations. o Student Accounting Office’s expectation is to collect money and remain in compliance. o Financial Aid Office’s expectation is to process federal aid and remain in compliance with federal regulations. Expectations

o Admission’s is warm and fuzzy and then the student see award amount and we are the dream killers o FA and Student Accounting Office are the reality offices o The reality is some students cannot afford the school that they would love to attend Dream Killers Dream Killer

o Work together to develop helpful web content for both offices o Maintain transparent information on both office website o Repetition is important with financial literacy o Work together to provide student options Dollar and Sense Dollars and Sense

o Demands from parents and students for more money and explanations. o Constant changes in federal regulations. o Dealing with student life issues o Requirements of professional expertise of personnel. o Lights and electricity o Lack of understanding from other offices on campus, and how it can effect financial aid. o Last one to know about any new changes on campus. o The financial aid office and student accounting office is a vital part of the student enrollment and retention efforts at your institution. It takes both of our offices working together as a team to meet student needs o AFTER ALL – STUDENT SUCCESS IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL In the end…
