Presentation transcript:

 Change of State- Change of a substance from one physical form to another. There needs to be a change in energy.

 Melting- Solid to Liquid Energy increases to make particles move faster.

 Freezing- Change of state from a liquid to solid. Energy is being removed from a liquid

 Evaporation- change of a substance from a liquid to a gas. Energy is added to a liquid to change it into a gas.  Boiling Point- The temperature when liquids bubble.

 Condensation- change from a gas to a liquid. (reverse of evaporation) Energy is lowered from the gas to make a liquid.

 Sublimation- Change from a solid directed to a gas. Takes the most energy

 You need to create a graphic organizer from the information provided.  Things to keep in mind All three states of matter need to be included. All names for phase changes are included. Arrows showing the direction of energy leads to the state of matter. Hint the graphic organizer should be shaped in a triangle.
