Industrial Engineer

Packaging Problem Task: Using butcher paper, create nets that will exactly cover 1) a box of craft sticks and 2) a canister of Clorox wipes. Test: At the end of the period, you must prove to Mrs. G that your net will cover the package exactly to earn today’s points.

Constraints: Use only tools provided. Each net must be one piece and dimensions must be clearly labeled. *You may not take the boxes or canisters back to your desk! *Only one team member may measure and report back to the group!

Reflection Write out question and answer in complete sentences. (Honors page 90, Math 7 page 89) How did your group apply knowledge of area and/or perimeter (circumference) to determine the sizes and layout of your nets for the packaging problem?
