Globalization and Outsourcing

How does globalization occur? Research international economies, culture, population Find cost effective ways to meet consumer demands Consumer specific marketing/advertising

What are the effects of globalization? PositivesNegatives -Movement of people and goods -Diffusion of ideas -Can increase technological knowledge in developing countries -Increased cultural Awareness -$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ -loss of distinct cultural traits/ habits -lack of appropriate regulation systems (child labor, overuse of environment, etc.) -OUTSOURCING!!!!

What is outsourcing? Outsourcing is NOT globalization – Globalization does not always result in outsourcing OUTSOURCING: dispersing jobs to individuals outside of a company’s home nation Alexa has a problem with her cell phone. She calls customer service and speaks to a representative with an accent that is not familiar. Most likely her cell phone company has employed someone internationally through outsourcing.
