Hyper Threading Technology

Introduction Hyper-threading is a technology developed by Intel Corporation for it’s Xeon processors with a 533 MHz system. It was released in March Hyper-threading technology, commonly referred to as "HT Technology," enables the processor to execute two threads, or sets of instructions, at the same time.

HT Technology converts a single physical processor into two virtual processors. HT Technology is also present in all Pentium 4 processors with 800MHz CPU bus speed (2.4 GHz up through 3.8 GHz) as well as the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition and the Dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition.

Dual Core Technology

Introduction In a Dual core processor each core handles incoming data strings simultaneously to improve efficiency. When one is executing the other can be accessing the system bus or executing its own code.

To utilize a dual core processor, the operating system must have simultaneous multi-threading technology. Intel introduced the first dual core processors (the Pentium D and Pentium Extreme Edition).

Dual Core Processor

Features They are faster They use less power They can able to perform multitasking They are smaller

Features They are less expensive to manufacture Clock speed range from 1.33 GHz to 2.93 GHz L2 Cache : 1 MB to 2 MB Front Side Bus (FSB) : 533 MHz, 667 MHz, 800 MHz, 1066 MHz

Core2Duo Technology

It has the following features L2 Cache:6 MB Front Side Bus:1333 MHz Instruction set:64 bit Clock speed:3.33 GHz

Benefits 3X faster multitasking performance Improve execution time and energy efficiency Improve system performance Wide Dynamic Execution Smart Memory Access

Benefits Get higher performance Intelligent Power Capabilities Advanced Smart Cache Advanced Digital Media Boost

The End …..Thank you…..
