Chapter 4 Ordinary Concrete

The quality of concrete is measured by Strength Durability Dimensional Stability §4.4.1 QUALITY OF CONCRETE

 Hardened concrete must have sufficient strength to resist stresses from loads on a structure.  The strength must also be high enough for variations in concrete mixtures. Strength QUALITY OF CONCRETE

 Concrete must be able to withstand forces of deterioration such as :  Freezing and Thawing  Wetting and Drying  Erosion and Chemical attack Durability QUALITY OF CONCRETE

Qualified concrete should have a minimum of shrinkage or expansion because of outside forces and chemical reactions within the concrete itself. Dimensional stability QUALITY OF CONCRETE
