Sample Sample consists of 3 classes of Georgetown undergraduates: Class 2016: 360 students Class 2015: 388 students Class 2014: 358 students Dependent Variables: Cum GPA, OPIM GPA, ACCT GPA Independent Variables: Gender, Math SAT, AP Calc Credit, AP Stat Credit, Quant Major (yes/no) Sample size in Final Models: Class 2016: 232 students Class 2015: 255 students Class 2014: 256 students 2

Demographics of Sample

SAT Math Scores

T-scores, Cumulative GPA

T-scores, ACCT GPA

T-scores, OPIM GPA

R 2 –adj Values for Final Regression: Quant/non-quant, AP Calc, SAT Math, Gender

Conclusions Whether or not the student earned AP Stat credit had no relationship on GPA (neither positive, nor negative) Early in student’s career, SAT Math score has strongest relationship to GPA The relationship between SAT Math score and GPA declines as students progress through university The relationship between AP Calc credit and GPA declines as students progress through university The relationship between gender and GPA increases as students progress through university Quantitative majors (ACCT, FINC, or OPIM) on average have higher Cum GPAs These factors account for 25% - 35% of the variation in GPA
