Presentation transcript:

Lesson 4: Final Assessment Objective: Students will be able to evaluate their own personal cash flow and net worth statements

Net Worth Review Assets – Liabilities= Net worth

Cash Flow Money coming in – money going out= flow of cash in your budget (life style)

What is a day’s education worth? Speaking of net worth. How much are you getting paid to be here today? Write down a number Over a 40 year working career you would be making about:

Value of a Day’s Education Average lifetime earnings for a high school graduate with no other certifications or degrees - $1,200,000 Average lifetime earnings for a college graduate with no other degrees- 2,100,000 Difference = $900,000 Divide $900,000 by 4 years of high school = $225,000

Value of a Day’s Education $225,000 earnings per year in high school $225,000 divided by 180 = $1250 (earnings per day at school) $1250 divided by 6 hours per day in class = $ dollars per hour. Summary: $208.33(one hour’s pay) x 180 (days) x 4(years) x 6 hours in class) = $900,000 more over your lifetime.
