Characters and Suspects Laura Lyons Franklands granddaughter, lies about writing notes, says she never went to see Baskerville at the moor gate Watson leaves Sir Henry behind to interrogate Mrs. Lyons, also goes to talk to Mr. Frankland, sees the messenger bring food to a man on the moor, Watson goes to explore where the man was living finds a note Mr. Frankland catches the "convicts" messenger bringing food to him, treats granddaughter badly

Purpose and Events Watson found out that Laura Lyons had written to Sir Charles Baskerville the night he had died and still wanted to meet him. Watson new that at the moment there was a red herring. Mr. Frankland told Watson that he had seen the stranger and that a child takes him his food everyday. Watson continued to not show that much interest by doing that it only makes Mr. Frankland talk more. All of a sudden Mr. Frankland sees the boy and points to Watson to look through the telescope.

Events Continued Watson looks and still pretends that hes not interested because he didn't want Mr. Frankland walking with him to find the boy. Watson makes his way out the house and towards the summit of the hill to where the boy was seen.

As Dr. Watson was exploring the man's camp he saw a letter which read,"Dr. Watson has gone to Coombe Tracey"(Conan Doyle 112). When Dr. Watson was talking to Mr. Frankland, Mr. Frankland says,"Quick, Watson, before he passes over the hill. There he was, sure enough, a small urchin with a little bundle upon his shoulder, toiling slowly up the hill"(Conan Doyle 110).
