6 The detective must be memorable
Detective Elements The detective must be memorable In this chapter Holmes is memorable because he notices things in objects that other people cant see. Examples: As Holmes observes the letter with the cut out words he notices what kind of scissor was used. (page 36) With the written part of the letter used with pen ink Holmes can see that the writer was having trouble because the pen had spluttered its ink about ever two words. By seeing that Holmes concludes with that there was very little ink left in the bottle. (page 37)

7 Quotes Sir Henry Baskerville gets a mysterious letter it reads “As you value your life or your reason keep away from the moor” moor was the only one printed the others cut out. “Nail scissors,” said Holmes. “you can see that it was a very short bladed scissors, since the cutter had to take two snips over ‘keep away’.” “…the Times is a paper which is seldom found in any hands but those of the highly educated.” Holmes “Now, you would call it a guess, no doubt, but I am almost certain that this address has been written in an hotel.” Holmes
