PSOM: Programme for Co-operation with Emerging Markets - Business to business - Support for private sector - Dutch Ministry of Development Cooperation

Objective of PSOM  Reduce poverty by supporting healthy economic partnerships between Dutch and Ghanaian companies Financial support for pilot-investments (50% grant) Partnership between Dutch and Ghanaian company Focus on SME’s

Typical PSOM project  Legal co-operation agreement (JV)  Training  Hardware (production unit)  Business plan: yeas or no follow up investments  Pilot with spin-off: FDI

PSOM Ghana  11 projects contracted, EUR 6,5 mln.  Follow up investments %  65% in agriculture/agribusiness  Employment : average 50 jobs per project

Ghana Investment Climate  and access  Remove time consuming procedures  Focus on Ghanaian private sector  Excellent opportunity to be fruit and vegetable garden for Europe
