The Grand Tetons By: Tommy Davis

What year did the Grand Tetons become a park and why The Grand Tetons become a park in 1929,a coordinating commission on national parks and forests met with valley residents and reached an agreement to build the park.* *Wikipedia.com

How they were formed The Grand Tetons pushed up as the earth split along a north-south fault line. As pressure deep within the mantle forced the blocks on each side of the fissure together, the western block got higher to form the mountains and the eastern block sank to form the valley.* *adventure.howstuffworks.com/grand-teton-national-park-ga2.htm

landforms Landforms in the Grand Teton national park include flood plains, glaciers, lakes, ponds, forests, mountains, watersheds, wetlands, marshes, and swamps* *nps.gov

Rocks found at the Tetons The rocks that make up the east face of the Teton range are around 2.5 billion years old and are made up of metamorphosed sandstones, limestones, various shales, and interbeded volcanic deposites.* * Wikipedia.com

How are the lands changing The land in the grand Tetons are very slowly moving upward, and fires are frequent burning trees and changing the landscapes

Environmental issues The environmental issues facing the Grand Tetons include wildfires, earthquakes, fires, floods, volcanic eruptions, and human activity

How is technology used to preserve the Grand Tetons At the Grand Tetons volunteers go to old cabins and install things like heaters, water recycler, and running water.
